This position reports to the MPS Planning Team Leader and is primarily responsible for aiding in the planning and prioritization of operations. The objective is to ensure that products are manufactured on schedule for distribution while maintaining profitability. The ideal candidate will facilitate a seamless and cost-effective flow of production activities.

An effective MPS Planner possesses a deep understanding of production methodologies and strategies for enhancement. They are organized, results-oriented, and exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities.

You will work closely with the Senior MPS Planner to provide consistent updates regarding potential order delays to external colleagues, assist in evaluating capacity limitations due to incoming demands, support production in analyzing order trends, and identify areas of concern. Additionally, you will help in mitigating bottlenecks and provide necessary manufacturing documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manually releasing expedited production orders and adjusting volumes outside the automated ERP system.
  2. Monitoring production progress, identifying delays, and modifying priorities as required.
  3. Planning and balancing capacity to prioritize operations for optimal efficiency.
  4. Collaborating with production teams to ascertain manpower, equipment, and raw material requirements.
  5. Continuously seeking and implementing process improvement opportunities.
  6. Addressing issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  7. Coordinating production workflows for one or multiple product lines.
  8. Entering sales orders into the ERP system.
  9. Utilizing the ERP system to generate daily manufacturing orders.
  10. Compiling manufacturing orders and preparing document packs for production cells.
  11. Managing administrative communications.
  12. Identifying discrepancies in document packs prior to release.
  13. Sending notifications regarding order delays.
  14. Performing general data entry and administrative functions.
  15. Collecting output data, such as finished product counts and defect rates.
  16. Preparing and submitting status and performance reports.
  17. Organizing documentation.
  18. Collaborating with quality control and warehouse personnel.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning or scheduling within a manufacturing context.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of production planning processes.
  • Strong analytical abilities with expertise in data analysis.
  • Familiarity with SAP and the capability to extract critical information and generate reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
