Main Function of the Role:

The primary responsibility involves the analysis, oversight, and management of structured credit exposures within our investment portfolios.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Management of structured credit exposures, specifically Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) and Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs).
  • Conducting comparative analysis to understand the relative value between structured credit instruments and broader fixed income products.
  • Monitoring and evaluating ABS and CLO investments.
  • Modeling and analyzing the structures of ABS and CLOs.
  • Generating investment recommendations based on insights from both primary and secondary markets.
  • Reviewing legal documentation and trustee reports.
  • Leading fundamental and risk assessments, including:
    • Analysis of underlying loans and the European leveraged loan market.
    • Evaluation of ABS collateral and the consumer credit landscape.
    • Staying informed on rating agency methodologies and developments.
    • Providing thought leadership on ESG considerations within structured credit.

Regulatory Responsibilities:

  • Promoting a culture that reflects compliance with FCA and other regulatory obligations, adhering to Hermes' Code of Ethics.
  • Ensuring all responsibilities as a Certified person are fulfilled.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in banking is beneficial, with a preference for candidates who have also worked in asset management.
  • Proficiency in credit analysis of structured credit transactions, including aspects such as originator, manager (CLOs), collateral, structure, and documentation.
  • Ability to integrate ESG and sustainability considerations into analyses.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong foundation in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in managing structured credit investments and understanding the comparative value between structured credit instruments and broader fixed income products.
