About the Role:

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development and implementation
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations
  • Work with fresh seasonal produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes cooked to the highest standards
  • Help create a warm, efficient and fun environment in the kitchen
  • Work within budget and manage stock control
  • Complete regular audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist in leading and motivating a team of chefs to achieve exceptional results

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification in culinary arts
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a team of chefs
  • Good understanding of nutrition and menu planning
  • Experience of working with fresh seasonal food and creating a warm and welcoming environment
  • Good understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations
