Job Title: Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Rehabilitation Service in South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist clinical input and advice to support colleagues within the community rehabilitation project and to agencies concerned with co-occurring mental health, alcohol, and/or drug problems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialist assessment and interventions working with adults who present with co-occurring mental health, alcohol, and/or drug problems.
  • Developing skills and abilities with adult community mental health team staff and the substance misuse team to work more effectively with clients who present with co-occurring mental health, alcohol, and/or drug problems.
  • Undertaking time-limited treatment specific work with clients whose care is coordinated by other members of staff in clinical teams.
  • Receiving supervision and support from both the mental health team and the substance misuse teams.
  • Working as an autonomous practitioner providing expert assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating care/treatment interventions for service users with complex needs associated with co-occurring mental health, alcohol, and/or drug issues.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant clinical subject.
  • Current professional registration in a relevant clinical subject.
  • Clinical Supervision training.
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
  • An appropriate professional qualification to supervise students in training.
  • A qualification in a relevant area of practice, such as co-occurring mental health, alcohol, and/or drugs and mental health need, cognitive behavioural therapy, or substance misuse.
