Working Hours: Flexible, 0 hours per week (Day, night, and weekend shifts available)

At Isle of Wight Council, we are dedicated to providing a vibrant and inclusive respite service for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive Casual Support Workers to help us achieve our mission of promoting active and fulfilling lifestyles for our service users.

Your Role:

As a Support Worker, you will engage with individuals in a variety of activities that enhance their enjoyment of life on the Island. This includes:

  • Organizing trips to local parks and community events
  • Facilitating arts and crafts sessions
  • Providing personalized support tailored to each individual's needs

Our service caters to a diverse range of emotional and physical wellbeing requirements, so your ability to connect with a variety of people is essential. You will also play a crucial role in providing emergency short-term care during challenging times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care tasks, including toileting, dressing, and feeding
  • Administer medication (training provided) while promoting independence
  • Perform domestic duties such as cooking and cleaning

Every day will present new challenges and opportunities, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Availability: Weekends are particularly busy, offering ample hours for those interested in weekend shifts, as well as opportunities during the week.
