About the Role

Vetro Housing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to young people aged 16-21 who are living in our supported accommodation services in Newport and surrounding areas.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a genuine passion for supporting young people who have experienced trauma, PTSD, or other difficulties in their lives. You will work closely with our team to build resilience and empower young people to achieve their outcomes and manage their tenancies independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to young people in our care
  • Develop and deliver group work facilitation to promote social skills and independence
  • Work collaboratively with our team to create a safe and supportive living environment
  • Assist young people in achieving their goals and outcomes
Requirements
  • Experience working with young people in an accommodation setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build supportive relationships
  • Strong understanding of issues that disrupt progress towards independence, such as mental health and substance use
  • Demonstrable skills in group work facilitation
