As the Head of Product Development & Manufacturing - Luxury Jewellery, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of De Beers Group's jewellery offerings. You will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, product development, quality control, and service centre operations, ensuring the timely production of high-quality, coveted pieces.

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with the COO to define and implement a robust in-house product development capability, driving innovation and design excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with the COO to develop a strategic manufacturing plan that ensures De Beers Group has the capacity and capabilities to meet future growth objectives.
  • Champion provenance and traceability standards within the supply chain, ensuring adherence to the highest ethical and governance practices.

Product Development & Innovation

  • Guide the entire product development process, working closely with design and marketing teams to bring innovative jewellery concepts to life.
  • Continuously improve product design and development processes to align with market trends, customer preferences, and quality standards.
  • Foster seamless collaboration across functions to ensure the successful introduction of new products and a smooth transition from prototype to mass production.

Sourcing & Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify and qualify suppliers of finished jewellery and components, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with jewellery manufacturing suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Implement supplier performance management processes to monitor quality, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Establish rigorous quality standards to ensure that jewellery products meet or exceed industry benchmarks and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement comprehensive quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material inspection to final product assembly and packaging.

Service Centre Management

  • Ensure that the service centre delivers a high-quality, timely service to stores and clients through robust processes, clear service level agreements (SLAs), and a culture of client satisfaction.
  • Lead (in collaboration with the service centre manager) efforts to enhance transparency and efficiency within the service centre operations.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.
