Role Overview: In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Ventures Valuations, assisting in the preparation of portfolio valuations and engaging in the collection and analysis of data from portfolio companies. Your contributions will be vital in analyzing investment track records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding, monitoring, and reporting on the performance of portfolio companies after investment is crucial to our operations.
  • Collaborating closely with investment managers to comprehend valuation drivers, investment theses, and overall company performance.
  • Working alongside finance and operations teams to generate internal and Limited Partner (LP) reports, Annual Reports, and other essential materials for stakeholder management.
  • Supporting the preparatory work for reporting valuations, which includes gathering internal information, rolling forward models, and managing the project process, including organizing preliminary and review meetings with stakeholders.

Valuation Preparation: You will be responsible for the preparation of individual portfolio company valuations, typically conducted bi-annually. This includes:

  • Collating portfolio data and gathering relevant market comparables.
  • Building valuation models, including waterfall modeling.
  • Drafting valuation papers that include commentary on trading performance, justification for selected valuation methodologies, and additional commentary on triangulation.
  • Conducting regular analyses on fund performance and the underlying drivers.
  • Preparing various analyses required for marketing and financial reporting.

Qualifications: Valuation experience is essential, preferably gained in a consulting environment, with some experience in portfolio valuations for private equity, venture capital, or alternative investment sectors. ACA/ACCA qualification or CFA charter holder is preferred but not mandatory. A solid understanding of International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation Guidelines is beneficial.
