Position Overview: Reporting to the Head of Ventures Valuations, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of portfolio valuations. Your responsibilities will include the collection and analysis of data from portfolio companies, contributing significantly to the analysis of investment track records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding, monitoring, and reporting on the performance of portfolio companies post-investment is essential to our operations.
- Collaborating closely with investment managers to grasp valuation drivers, investment theses, and company performance metrics.
- Working alongside finance and operations teams to generate internal and limited partner reporting, Annual Reports, and other critical materials for stakeholder management.
- Supporting the preparatory work for reporting valuations, which involves gathering internal information, managing model roll forwards, and organizing preliminary and review meetings with stakeholders.
- Conducting individual portfolio company valuations on a bi-annual basis, which includes:
- Collating portfolio data and gathering relevant market comparables.
- Building valuation models, including waterfall modeling.
- Preparing valuation papers that include commentary on trading performance, justification for selected valuation methodologies, and additional triangulation commentary.
- Conducting regular analysis on fund performance and its underlying drivers, along with preparing various analyses needed for marketing and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Valuation experience is essential, preferably gained in a consulting firm, with exposure to portfolio valuations in private equity, venture capital, or alternative investment sectors.
- ACA/ACCA qualification or CFA charter holder is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation Guidelines.
- Exceptional Excel skills are required.
