Domestic Services Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Domestic Assistant to join our team at University Hospital Monklands. As a key member of our Domestic Services department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide domestic services to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to NHS Lanarkshire and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards.
- Work alongside and support new staff in the working environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Undertake on-the-job training and induction to achieve full competency across a range of duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and health and safety procedures.
- Participate in risk assessing individual tasks and contribute to the development of a safe working environment.
- Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
- Complete the NHSS Domestic Services Workbook and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
This is a part-time position, working 34.6 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:30am-15:00pm. The salary will be pro-rata.
