About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Domestic Assistant to join our team at University Hospital Monklands. As a key member of our Domestic Services department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide domestic services to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to NHS Lanarkshire and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards.
  • Work alongside and support new staff in the working environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Undertake on-the-job training and induction to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
  • Participate in risk assessing individual tasks and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.
  • Complete the NHSS Domestic Services Workbook and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
