Underwriting Propositions Manager

Swiss Re's Underwriting team is at an exciting juncture, driven by technological advancements and shifting consumer expectations. This presents a unique opportunity to be part of an experienced team in a market where underwriting services and solutions are highly valued by clients.
About the RoleIn this client-facing position, you will be responsible for delivering and marketing Swiss Re's impressive underwriting proposition, serving as a key component of the Swiss Re UK & Ireland brand. Our established, experienced underwriting team in London is a core pillar of the wider UKI Claims and Underwriting unit.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the dedicated UKI cross-functional teams (Business Development Managers, Claims, Costing) on product development, innovative solutions, and establishing Swiss Re as the premier underwriting partner of choice.
- Drive innovation and thought leadership within the market, supporting strategic aims and deliverables.
- Cultivate and grow client relationships, helping to strengthen the Swiss Re Underwriting brand.
- Represent Swiss Re at industry forums and functions as required.
- Collaborate across functional units to bring risk insights, driving business targets.
- Coordinate the delivery of underwriting solutions and services to clients.
- Ensure sound technical underwriting and risk management.
- Drive operational efficiency of the underwriting team.
You will be a seasoned professional with a strong technical understanding of L&H products and the drivers of profitability. You should have experience in L&H product development and/or project management, or have worked in a client-facing role in another capacity. You will be passionate about the value that underwriting can deliver and have a desire to improve continuously and challenge the status quo.
Requirements- At least 10 years' experience in (re)insurance.
- Strong technical understanding of L&H products and the drivers of profitability.
- Experience in L&H product development and/or project management, or client-facing role.
- Significant awareness of market portfolio dynamics, including the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential risks and opportunities.
- Ability to translate technical knowledge into clearly articulated commercial proposals.
- Comfortable talking to senior-level clients and experience in marketing (re)insurance services.
