Finance Assistant

Optima Recruitment is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Financial Controller and assisting with various financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and manage purchase and sales ledger duties, including processing expenses and credit card transactions.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and manage purchase orders.
  • Assist with banking and cashiering duties, including cash book postings and reconciliations.
  • Support the Fundraising Finance Lead with daily banking and processing.
  • Raise sales ledger and fundraising invoices, and monitor the accounts inbox.
  • Respond to queries and requests from other staff members within the organization.
  • Perform general bookkeeping and administrative duties, including managing paper filing and assisting with year-end accounts.
Requirements:
  • AAT part-qualified or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate Excel skills.
  • Well-organized, prioritizing, and working within key deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work thoroughly, methodically, with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Competent writing and reporting skills.
  • Previous experience of accounting software packages.
