Backup and Storage Engineer

Job Title: Technical Consultant – Storage and Backup

Location: Surrey, UK

Hybrid: 2 days a week in office

Salary: up to £75k (DOE) + bonus

Our client a leading Financial Services company, are seeking a Backup and Storage engineer to join their Technology Infrastructure Services team.

You’ll specialise in Storage & Backup administration, ensuring seamless service delivery and automation in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Administer Storage & Backup platforms, including HA solution design

✅ Automate systems operations and perform routine maintenance

✅ Handle service requests and incidents related to Netapp, Isilon, and NBU backup

✅ Support regional project management and system implementations

Essential Skills:

* Must have experience with Netbackup V9 or above

* Proficient in UNIX & Windows system administration

* Strong experience in Backup products (Data Domain, DDboost)

* Good understanding of data replication (NetApp snapmirror, DataDomain mtree)

* Automation skills with scripting languages (Python, Linux Shell, PowerShell)

* Knowledge of SAN products (Dell PowerMax/Vmax)

* Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS) and resource deployment (Terraform)

* Excellent communication skills for effective problem-solving
