Position Overview

As a Technical Support Specialist within our faculty, you will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience by providing essential technical assistance and procedural support. You will work collaboratively with academic staff and fellow technicians to ensure the effective delivery of taught sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with academic colleagues to facilitate the delivery of educational programs.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of technical equipment and resources.
  • Support clinical simulation sessions and develop practical solutions for various programs.
  • Ensure timely availability and efficient restocking of resources.
  • Engage in moving and handling tasks to set up necessary equipment for teaching.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess experience in setting up practical equipment and providing support in a technical capacity. Key skills include:
  • Proficiency in various software applications.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Creativity and initiative in problem-solving.
  • Teamwork experience and capability in managing equipment handling.

Experience in a higher education setting is advantageous. A solid understanding of health and safety regulations, including relevant policies and procedures, is essential.

Qualifications

Essential:
  • GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English, Science, and Mathematics.
  • Two A levels or equivalent.

Desirable:
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

About the Faculty

The Faculty of Health, Education and Society is the largest at the University, encompassing diverse subject areas including Childhood, Youth and Families, Education, Health Professions, Nursing, Psychology, and Social Therapies. You will be part of the Faculty Administration Team, contributing to the delivery of programs across these areas.
