Position Overview

This role presents an excellent opportunity to become a vital member of our Production team, focusing on the assembly of sophisticated, state-of-the-art products. You will enhance your skills and tackle some of our most intricate system configurations. A robust engineering background coupled with advanced technical expertise is essential for this position.

Your employment will involve a rotating shift schedule, comprising four 8-hour shifts and one 5-hour shift each week. The current shifts include Early (starting at 06:00) and Afternoon (starting at 14:00).

Primary Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Efficiently assemble systems, sub-assemblies, and components for complex systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards and ISO regulations, while meeting production timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bill of Materials (BOM) and customer specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues.
  • Document technical challenges and track them using the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
  • Maintain and enhance your technical skills through ongoing training.
  • Serve as a resource to ensure that all technicians in the assembly area are knowledgeable about the assembly sequence.
  • Mentor and train less experienced technicians.
  • Exemplify the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and health and safety practices within the assembly areas, while supporting and promoting 5S initiatives.
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the Production Team through continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work according to the rotating shift schedule as communicated by your Team Leader.

Candidate Profile:

Essential qualifications include:

  • Completion of a Mechanical apprenticeship or City and Guilds part 3, or equivalent qualifications such as HND, HNC, or BTech level 3.
  • Precision fitting skills, including:
  • Machining (typically milling and turning).
  • Experience with vacuum and pneumatic systems.
  • Pipe bending with stainless steel, ranging from 1⁄4" to 1⁄2".
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Capability to diagnose faults and implement corrective measures.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications are preferred.
  • A combination of mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly skills is advantageous.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Proficient PC skills.
  • A highly committed team player with strong communication abilities.
  • Exemplary standards of build quality; adaptable, cooperative, punctual, and self-disciplined.
