Role Overview:
Cleveland Clinic London is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to enhance our Patient Access Team. This position requires a strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment and serves as the initial point of contact for all outpatient inquiries. The role involves managing outpatient scheduling efficiently while ensuring exceptional customer service in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all scheduling operations to provide a streamlined, patient-focused booking service.
- Proactively reach out to patients with incomplete registration data to finalize scheduling within designated timelines.
- Accurately gather and maintain demographic and financial information.
- Coordinate with insurance providers to secure necessary authorizations.
- Offer cost estimates to self-paying patients and process payments as required.
- Encourage patients to utilize the CCL MyChart App for managing their financial and demographic details.
- Assign incomplete bookings to the pre-registration queue for resolution.
- Collaborate with clinical departments to uphold effective scheduling workflows.
- Ensure seamless communication with relevant clinical teams to enhance the patient experience.
- Participate in cross-training across various Patient Access functions as needed.
- Adhere to hospital policies regarding attendance, confidentiality, and professional appearance.
- Complete required training to maintain competencies and fulfill departmental requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a healthcare environment or contact center is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient booking systems and hospital software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges and support team objectives.
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
