About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Gordon Murray Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the test and validation of new hardware and software releases, ensuring they meet the requirements of our vehicle timing and development plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test and Validation: Develop and execute test plans for systems and sub-systems in the vehicle electrical architecture, ensuring compliance with formal testing and reporting methods.
  • Test Asset Management: Define testing strategies and specify test assets required to successfully achieve test and validation aspirations for the project.
  • Feature and Function Development: Test and validate all aspects of feature and function development, from simple single ECU functions to safety-relevant distributed functions.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical and project oversight for test and validation of electronics-related developments undertaken by our technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate multi-party activities to ensure synchronized delivery and facilitate productive test and validation activities.
  • Technical Deliverables: Support the management of technical deliverables such as Feature Implementation Plans, software timing plans, issues trackers, signals databases, and open issues decks.
  • System Review and Verification: Participate in system review, verification, and validation activities, including FMEAs, DVP planning, ISO26262 functional safety, and other tests throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Training and Support: Provide support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments, including development of service procedures and diagnostic functionality.
Requirements
  • Experience: Significant relevant experience of vehicle/system/sub-system test and validation within an automotive, aerospace, or e-mobility engineering environment.
  • Knowledge and Expertise: Demonstrable understanding of electrical architectures, system networks, and diagnostic technologies, as well as working knowledge of software architectures, test and validation strategies, and development environments.
  • Skills: Experience of project engineering with Tier 1 suppliers, preparation of project documentation and reports, risk management, mitigation, and recovery planning, and experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework.
  • Education: Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Software Engineering, Automotive, or similar honours engineering degree, or other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience.
  • Personal Qualities: Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work well on own initiative, with a full driving license and no visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
