About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Studio Engineer to join our team at Gordon Murray Group. As a key member of our styling team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicle styling is developed and matured, aligned with engineering requirements, and meets the highest standards of quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control and manage styling surface data, ensuring alignment with engineering requirements and project timelines.
  • Record and manage styling design progress, using 'Exterior & Interior Studio surface release plan' documents to track feasibility status and obtain approval from engineering and vehicle architect teams.
  • Raise necessary company documents to obtain approval signatures, ensuring styling data is formally released within the company.
  • Communicate and represent issues between styling team, engineering groups, and suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration and resolution.
  • Have a deep understanding of styling responsible components and initiate meetings to support activities as required.
  • Provide high-quality technical solutions to meet styling team requirements, under the guidance of a styling team when necessary.
  • Contribute to and support activities that drive the styling team's goals, such as colour and material finish of the vehicle.
  • Liaise with engineering, vehicle architect, and Project Management teams to ensure technical targets, program timings, and budgetary requirements are met.
  • Schedule own activities to provide styling deliverables that meet required specifications within timescales and budgets.
Requirements
  • Extensive programme engineering/management experience in automotive projects, including PPAP, PSW, and Control Plans.
  • Extensive knowledge of styling and engineering design techniques and processes, including fundamental manufacturing technologies.
  • Knowledge of CATIA / CATIA viewer or equivalent.
