Job Title: Interior Electronics Domain Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical System Development: Develop and integrate interior electronics systems into the overall vehicle electrical architecture, including switch gear, interior lighting and illumination, tachometer, and HVAC.
  • System Management: Manage Electrical FG owned Interior systems and collaborate with the Body and Interior Function Groups for system integration.
  • Network Integration: Integrate interior electronics into the overall vehicle electrical network architecture and vehicle package, including network integration, distributed functions, signal database requirements, and interaction with UI systems.
  • Technical Deliverables: Manage technical deliverables, project plans, and open issues decks for assigned systems.
  • Compliance and Certification: Ensure compliance with legislative, certification, environmental, and EMC requirements.
  • Software Development: Specify and develop software features and functions in conjunction with technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers, ensuring process-driven development compliance.
  • System Review and Validation: Participate in system review, verification, and validation activities, including FMEAs, DVP planning, ISO26262 functional safety, EMC, and other tests throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Electrical Development and Testing: Conduct hands-on electrical development and testing in collaboration with testing and validation colleagues, identifying and resolving faults, and managing issues to closure.
  • Tier 1 Supplier Management: Manage and coordinate Tier 1 supplier activities, including support for Procurement, Logistics, and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manufacturing and Service Support: Provide support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments, developing service procedures and diagnostic functionality.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Significant experience of interior electrical systems and component delivery within an automotive engineering environment.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrable understanding of electrical architectures and underlying network and diagnostic technologies.
  • Project Engineering: Experience of project engineering with Tier 1 suppliers, preparation of project documentation and reports, risk management, mitigation, and recovery planning.
  • Vehicle Networks and Diagnostics: Working knowledge of vehicle networks and diagnostics.
  • APQP and Six Sigma: Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework (FMEA, DVP, quality planning, PPAP, etc.) and full product lifecycle activities.
  • Education: Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive, or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
  • Driving License: Full driving license is essential.
  • Visa and Travel Restrictions: No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
