Loughborough, Leicestershire, United Kingdom Dogs Trust Full time

About this role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Rehabilitation Training Specialist to assist with the behavioural and welfare assessments of dogs in our Rehoming Centre.

About the role:

  • Work closely with the management and behaviour teams to implement management, training, and behaviour modification programmes for dogs, tailored to their individual needs and progress.
  • Supervise other Canine Carers to ensure the optimal welfare of dogs in the centre, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Keep accurate records of assessments, training programmes, and the progress of dogs in training, providing valuable insights for future improvements.
  • Support members of the public with individual dogs' training programmes, one-to-one consultations, pre-adoption talks, and general rehoming guidance.

About you:

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of dog behaviour, including the ability to read canine body language, facial expressions, and vocalisations, and understand how these relate to the emotional state of dogs. An excellent communicator, you will be comfortable liaising with potential adopters and customers, and possess a high level of organisation, with the ability to adopt methodical approaches to working practices and record detailed information.

About Dogs Trust:

We are a leading dog charity, dedicated to helping dogs in need, supporting owners every step of the way, and creating a better world for dogs in the future. About the team:

Our Rehoming Centres are the face of Dogs Trust, and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service to our visitors. Our team is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of dogs, and we are seeking like-minded individuals to join our team.

Requirements:
