Clinical Pain Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Pain Management Consultant to join our team at the Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical pain services and promoting a culture of evidence-based best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership to a team of Pain Specialist Nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals to deliver an occupationally focused Pain Management resource within a rehabilitation service.
- Coordinate surgical, medical, rehabilitation, psychological, and social care input to ensure delivery of a patient-centred, integrated, biopsychosocial model of care.
- Assess patients at regular intervals to review progress and provide guidance on their long-term condition.
- Attend and lead Pain clinics, Specialist Rehabilitation Multi-disciplinary assessment clinics (MIACs), and review clinics as per individual job plan.
Requirements
- Experience working in pain management, including assessment and treatment, and intervention.
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working.
- Evidence of recent training as a commitment to personal and professional development.
- Full General Medical Council (GMC) registration with a licence to practice and entry onto GMC Specialist Register.
- Member of Royal College of Anaesthetics (RCA) and Faculty of Pain Medicine, Fellow of Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) or equivalent.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
