Pain Management Consultant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pain Management Consultant to join our team at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical pain services and promoting evidence-based best practice.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to a team of Pain Specialist Nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals
  • Develop and implement pain management strategies to facilitate rehabilitation and function
  • Coordinate surgical, medical, rehabilitation, psychological, and social care input to ensure delivery of a patient-centred, integrated biopsychosocial model of care
  • Attend and lead Pain clinics, Specialist Rehabilitation Multi-disciplinary assessment clinics, and review clinics

Requirements:

  • Experience working in pain management, assessment, and treatment, including intervention
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team working
  • Recent training as a commitment to personal and professional development
  • Full General Medical Council (GMC) registration with a licence to practice and entry onto GMC Specialist Register
  • Member of Royal College of Anaesthetics (RCA) and Faculty of Pain Medicine, Fellow of Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) or equivalent
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
