Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated mortuary services coordinator with substantial expertise to lead the mortuary operations, ensuring effective management and enhancement of services across the organization. The successful candidate will provide guidance to the Designated Individual on service enhancements, oversee sensitive licensing activities, and uphold the standards of care for patients within the service.

The coordinator will also offer specialized advice, facilitate training for mortuary personnel, and uphold the professional reputation of the mortuary services.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in healthcare, preferably with qualifications in Anatomical Pathology Technology or equivalent, or significant experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting.

Applicants should demonstrate specialized knowledge and skills acquired from working in a mortuary or end-of-life care environment, along with a proactive problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities include managing and coordinating inspections by the Human Tissue Authority and addressing any recommendations that arise. Strong communication, teamwork, effective staff management, and leadership skills are essential. The candidate must be highly organized and experienced in Quality Management Systems and change management.

Additionally, the successful candidate will need to exhibit effective management experience in staff oversight and mortuary-related functions.

Main Responsibilities

The mortuary services are licensed under the Human Tissue Authority, providing storage prior to post-mortem activities and retrieval of samples for licensed procedures.

While the mortuary does not engage in incisional activities, we are committed to delivering exemplary care for the deceased entrusted to us.

The newly established role will involve managing governance and overseeing licensing activities on behalf of the Designated Individual for post-mortem services.
