Job Title: Director of External Relations and Advocacy

Islamic Relief Worldwide is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its global advocacy and media efforts. As Director of External Relations and Advocacy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective advocacy and media strategies to promote the organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of global advocacy and media strategies to promote Islamic Relief's mission and values.
  • Build and maintain relationships with international actors, including multilateral institutions, UN bodies, government donors, and global private sector actors.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for senior staff on advocacy, media, and external relations.
  • Manage and lead a team of professionals to secure high-profile media coverage and reputation management.
  • Develop and implement effective crisis communications and reputation management strategies.
  • Collaborate with global media and lead on global reputation management.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social development, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading advocacy, media, and external relations in international non-profit organizations.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering impactful advocacy and media strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of international media organizations and effective approaches to media engagement.
  • Experience in reputation management and crisis communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
