Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Full time

Position Overview

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a premier educational medical facility renowned for its exceptional services. Our Physiotherapy department is integral to the innovative advancements within the Trust, and we are expanding our team. Our patients consistently commend us for our high-quality care and the friendliness of our staff. We invite individuals who share our values to explore the opportunities available within our organization.

We are pleased to announce a vacancy for a Rehabilitation Support Specialist to join our Respiratory Physiotherapy Team. This team is responsible for various wards, including Surgery, General Medicine, and Respiratory Medicine. In this role, you will assist physiotherapy professionals in providing care to in-patients across these departments.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will collaborate with Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Support Workers to perform a range of both clinical and non-clinical duties that facilitate the delivery of physiotherapy services to our patients. Your responsibilities will include supporting Physiotherapists in their therapeutic interventions and executing prescribed exercise or functional rehabilitation programs designed to enhance patient recovery and support the team’s objectives.

Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be part of a collaborative team and will engage with a diverse patient population, some of whom may have complex communication requirements.

In particular, for in-patient roles, you will encounter patients who are often critically ill, making prior experience in a healthcare setting highly advantageous. You will be working with individuals experiencing both physical and cognitive challenges.

This rewarding position provides the chance to enhance your clinical and non-clinical competencies, with access to ongoing training and personal development opportunities. You will receive guidance and annual performance reviews, actively participating in your professional growth.
