Job Title: Specialist Neuro-Rehabilitation Nurse

At Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Neuro-Rehabilitation Nurse to join our dynamic team at the Colman Centre for Specialist Rehabilitation in Norwich.

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with complex needs, utilizing your expertise in neuro-rehabilitation to make a real difference in their lives.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for patients, leveraging your strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, ensuring a seamless and supportive care experience.
  • Contribute to the development of the team and the service through sharing knowledge and expertise, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients, utilizing your clinical expertise and judgment to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide high standards of nursing care to patients with specialist needs, including those with complex neurological conditions.
  • Document all stages of the nursing process accurately and keep care plans and patient records up to date, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Act as patient advocate, ensuring patients' capacity is assessed and respected, and their rights are protected.
  • Support and develop the skills of nursing assistants and student nurses, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
  • Contribute to the rehabilitation process, working closely with therapy colleagues to set joint goals with patients and drive meaningful progress.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • 1st level nurse qualification in adult nursing, with a strong foundation in neuro-rehabilitation.
    • Registered General Nurse with UK Nursing and Midwifery Council, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
    • Mentorship/supervisor trained or willingness to complete this, with a focus on supporting the growth and development of colleagues.
    • Willingness to take on link nurse role for the service, driving quality improvement and excellence.
  • Desirable:
    • Evidence of recent learning and development relevant to tissue viability, continence, diabetes, care management, etc., with a focus on staying up-to-date with best practices.
    • Experience of clinical supervision and day-to-day management of nursing teams, with a strong track record of leadership and collaboration.
    • Commitment to understanding the role of other disciplines and experience of working in a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on seamless care delivery.
