Enterprise Risk Management Specialist

Risk Management Division (RISQ)
The Risk Management function within the UK operates under a structured three lines of defence model, ensuring clear and distinct responsibilities that align with both the Group framework and relevant local regulatory standards. RISQ serves as the second line of defence, tasked with the independent analysis, challenge, evaluation, and oversight of the risk-taking activities undertaken by various Business Lines, thereby facilitating the effective execution of the Bank's strategic objectives in accordance with its risk appetite.
This position reports directly to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in the UK. The responsibilities of the ERM function encompass:
- Establishing and executing comprehensive risk management processes, including Risk Identification, Risk Appetite, and the development of the Risk Management Framework, along with ad hoc analyses for the London Branch and International Limited.
- Providing coordination and input for the critical components of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
- Conducting periodic assessments of the risk profile and governance structures for both the London Branch and International Limited.
- Overseeing regulatory monitoring for the Risk Management Division in the UK and assisting with the implementation of new regulations as necessary.
- Engaging in Group-level initiatives, collaborating with other wholesale locations and Group entities.
Summary of Duties:
- Implementation and oversight of standards for essential components of normative documentation, including the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both entities:
- Coordination of the annual update process.
- Ensuring alignment with Group normative documentation.
- Establishing consistency with regulatory expectations.
- Preparation of clear, precise, and effective documentation and summaries.
- Monitoring adherence to the RAF, RAS, and RMF.
- Enhancing the risk identification and assessment framework, conducting periodic campaigns for risk identification and assessment.
- Participation in the ICAAP for International Limited.
- Reviewing and challenging key ESG risk factors and capital management aspects.
- Staying informed on business, regulatory, and market developments, providing support and thought leadership to improve risk management practices.
- Preparing documentation and presentations for relevant governance forums.
- Summarizing impacts and actions related to regulatory developments.
- Leading or participating in projects as required.
- Promoting a robust risk culture and sound governance practices.
Essential Competencies
- Adaptability to evolving job requirements, with a proactive mindset for leading change across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise risk management within a banking context.
- Extensive experience in developing Risk Management Frameworks, Risk Appetite, risk identification and assessment, capital management, and producing ICAAP deliverables.
- Strong quantitative skills related to financial statements, performance analysis, and ICAAP.
- Expertise in stress testing and reverse stress testing methodologies.
- Solid understanding and experience in identifying, assessing, and managing ESG risk factors.
- Experience in evaluating internal and external risk trends and regulatory changes, articulating their impact on key deliverables.
- Collaborative team player with high emotional intelligence, committed to sharing knowledge and working together.
- Strong risk culture and professional integrity; demonstrates risk awareness and adherence to internal policies.
- Exceptional coordination and project management abilities, showcasing impactful leadership.
