ROLE OVERVIEW


The selected individual will be designated to a particular facility or a series of smaller venues where you will oversee the effective provision of facility services, which encompass caretaking, porterage, and cleaning duties.

Additionally, there will be a necessity to perform minor security and maintenance tasks, as well as engage in emergency weather responses, fire safety measures, and university events, which may occur outside standard working hours.

The positions available are permanent and offer a range of hours including full-time, part-time, and term-time only options. Kindly specify in your cover letter your preference for full-time or part-time work.

The roles available will be based at either City or Coach Lane campus, with an expectation to work flexibly across both locations as needed. The requirement to work outside of university core hours, including weekends and public holidays, will be arranged in advance based on business needs.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

To excel in this position, you should possess:

A comprehensive understanding and capability to perform practical tasks related to caretaking and porterage.

Solid knowledge of minor repairs and DIY skills, with the ability to work swiftly and effectively.

Competence in responding to emergency situations such as first aid, fire incidents, and flooding.

Flexibility to accommodate business activities outside of standard hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shift changes with appropriate notice.

A valid UK driving license and the ability to operate a Luton/Transit or similar lightweight vehicle.


Ladder/PASMA training or a willingness to undergo training is required.
