ROLE OVERVIEW


The ideal candidate will be designated to a particular facility or a selection of smaller properties where you will oversee the effective provision of facilities services such as caretaking, porterage, and cleaning.

Additionally, you will be expected to perform minor security and maintenance tasks and engage in emergency weather responses, fire safety activities, and campus events, which may occur outside of standard working hours.

We have three positions available, including two full-time roles and one part-time role (specific hours to be determined, with consideration for university term time only).

Within the Facilities & Estates department, we provide a variety of high-quality, customer-oriented services that significantly enhance the student experience in their academic and living environments.

Our services are delivered through a combination of in-house teams and specialized partner solutions.

Our objective is to create an exceptional student experience by ensuring a world-class campus atmosphere, focusing on customer service, continuous improvement, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency.


The positions available will be based at either the City or Coach Lane campus, with an expectation to work flexibly across both locations as required. The necessity to work outside of university core hours, including weekends and public holidays, will be arranged in advance based on business needs.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

To excel in this role, you should possess:

A broad understanding and capability to perform practical tasks relevant to a caretaking and porterage setting.

A solid foundation in minor maintenance and DIY skills, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively.

The capacity to respond to emergency situations, including first aid, fire incidents, and flooding.

A demonstrated willingness to adapt to business needs outside of standard hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shift changes with appropriate notice.

A valid UK driving license and the ability to operate a Luton/Transit or similar lightweight vehicle.


Ladder/PASMA certification or a willingness to obtain training.
