About This Role

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Theatre Support Worker to join our dynamic Emergency & Theatres team. In this crucial role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of surgical care to our patients.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, assisting with positioning, comfort measures, and access to facilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, preparing equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to strict decontamination protocols and handling specimens safely.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, promptly reporting any significant findings to the nursing staff.
  • Contribute to a safe and organized theatre environment by ensuring adequate stock levels and maintaining cleanliness.

About You

You are a highly motivated individual with proven experience working in an operating theatre setting. Your strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm under pressure will be essential in this fast-paced environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a theatre environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety practices in healthcare.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Basic General Education with GCSE Maths & English grade C/4 or above, or equivalent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • INCS/NVQ Level 3 in care or similar qualification (achievable within 18 months of start date).
