Key Responsibilities- Support the team of Registered Nurses and ODPs in the safe delivery of care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Assist in the positioning of patients in theatre and in the recovery area, ensuring that pressure areas are protected adequately and that patient comfort is maintained.
- Undertake clinical duties relevant to the clinical area following achievement of competencies.
- Handle and store patient specimens safely, complying with Trust policy.
- Assist to maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals.
- Contribute to maintaining safe, clean and productive care environment, compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
- Maintain and develop own competence in accordance with Trust and local policy.
- Communicate and document information in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Actively try to resolve issues and complaints at local level and report outcome to line manager.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to providing high standards of patient care.
- Ability to work well within a busy team environment.
- Mature approach to work.
- Previous experience of working in an Operating Theatre.
