Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Senior Support Worker in the Imaging Department at Royal Preston Hospital and other hospital sites.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care while technical procedures are carried out. You will work closely with Advanced Practitioners, radiographers, and Consultants to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Main Duties
  • Provide high-quality personalized care in accordance with agreed local and national standards.
  • Undertake duties relevant to the clinical area following achievement of competencies.
  • Assist in maintaining patient safety, adhering to health, safety, and security legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Contribute to maintaining safe, clean, and productive environments, compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Actively try to resolve issues and complaints at local level and then report the outcome to line manager.
  • Maintain and develop own competence.
  • Process information according to local and national requirements.
Person Specification

Qualifications and Education

  • GCSE in English and Mathematics – grade C/4 or above OR Level 2 Functional Literacy & Level 2 numeracy skills.
  • NVQ Level 2 Care or Equivalent (to work towards level 3 within 18 months of start date).

Desirable Criteria

  • Basic IT skills.
  • NVQ Level 3 in care.
  • Care Certificate.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Aware of the concept and application of confidentiality.
  • Able to demonstrate Health & Safety awareness.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the role of a band 3 assistant.
  • Evidence of working at Band 2/3 in a caring environment.
