Position: Lead Business Strategist - Real Estate

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: London

Working Style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We are currently seeking a Lead Business Strategist to join the Royal London Mutual Insurance Society's Property team on a permanent basis in London.

The role will report to the Property COO and is accountable for the operational effectiveness and risk oversight of the Property division, alongside managing a team of five professionals. This management position will adapt as business requirements evolve, focusing on four key areas: governance of the property team, business management, operational support, and fostering process enhancements and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with relevant stakeholders and provide the Property Team with assistance on governance, risk oversight, and regulatory compliance (including investment management and real estate specific regulations).
  • Deliver regular reporting and management insights to the Property COO and Head of Property regarding team-wide activities.
  • Oversee essential service provider relationships for the Property Team and the funds under management.
  • Assist the Property COO with project initiatives, including new product development and business strategies.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience and comprehension of the property sector and common structures utilized for property asset management.
  • Exceptional collaborator, capable of working with diverse personnel and teams to proactively support the business.
  • Strong commitment to risk management principles.
  • Excellent numerical and verbal reasoning skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Extensive experience in investment operational roles.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to adapt engagement style to suit various stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and readiness to engage directly as needed.
  • Demonstrated team leadership capabilities.
