This position offers a remarkable opportunity for a medical professional eager to deepen their expertise in oncology clinical trials, particularly in Phase I and Experimental Cancer Medicine research.

The role is ideally suited for a physician who has either completed or is currently pursuing specialist training in medical oncology and has prior experience in the development and execution of clinical or translational research, collaborating with clinical academics and/or industry partners.

A valid medical qualification and the ability to secure General Medical Council registration prior to the commencement of the role are essential. Furthermore, the successful candidate will need to be eligible to hold an Honorary Clinical Contract with the relevant NHS Trust.

The selected individual will play a vital role in the recruitment and management of patients with cancer, actively participating in clinical trials. Engagement in research-focused outpatient clinics will also be a key expectation. A solid understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is necessary, and additional, trial-specific training will be provided. Opportunities to attend training related to trial design and to present clinical findings at both national and international conferences will also be available.

This position will be situated within the Department of Oncology, under the guidance of the Specialty Research Lead for Early Phase Trials, and will be associated with the relevant NHS Trust and clinical research center.
