Oncology Clinical Research Specialist

Opportunity Overview: This position offers a remarkable chance for a medical professional eager to enhance their expertise in oncology clinical trials, particularly in Phase I and Experimental Cancer Medicine studies.
Ideal Candidate Profile: The role is best suited for a physician who has either completed or is currently pursuing specialist training in medical oncology. Candidates should have prior experience in the formulation and execution of clinical or translational research, collaborating with clinical academics and/or industry partners.
Qualifications Required: A valid medical qualification and registration with the General Medical Council, or the ability to secure registration prior to starting the role, is essential. Additionally, the successful candidate must be eligible to hold an Honorary Clinical Contract with the relevant NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities: The selected individual will play a vital role in the recruitment and management of cancer patients participating in clinical trials. Involvement in research-focused outpatient clinics is also anticipated. A solid understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is expected, with further trial-specific training provided. Opportunities to engage in trial design training and present clinical findings at both national and international conferences will be available.
Departmental Structure: This position will be situated within the Department of Oncology, under the guidance of the Specialty Research Lead for Early Phase Trials. The role will also involve honorary clinical status with the associated NHS Trust.
Contractual Information: This is a fixed-term position, with funding available for an initial period.
