Position Overview:

At GlaxoSmithKline, we are seeking a Statistics Leader to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that quantitative reasoning is integral to our clinical projects. Your expertise will help us leverage every data point to shape effective translational strategies that underpin our comprehensive clinical development plans.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Formulate comprehensive quantitative clinical development strategies while influencing regulatory and commercial approaches.
  • Take ownership of clinical trial designs, analysis techniques, reporting, and data interpretation.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders to fulfill business objectives.
  • Identify, innovate, and implement advanced statistical methodologies to support the development of new medicines.
  • Engage in all phases of drug development, from initial clinical studies to post-market support.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in statistics or a related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of statistical modeling and its application to clinical challenges.
  • Proven track record of significant statistical contributions in clinical drug development across various phases.
  • Demonstrated strong performance in either academic or industry environments.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Bayesian statistical methods.
  • Expertise in a variety of statistical methodologies.
  • Ability to apply innovative statistical thinking effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including:
    • Strong influencing capabilities across different organizational levels.
    • Ability to build and maintain robust working relationships within a team.
    • Skill in articulating complex statistical concepts to scientific and clinical colleagues.
  • Experience in collaborating with and managing the work of Contract Research Organizations (CROs).
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
