Maintenance Caretaker Role at Saint John of God Hospitaller Services

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Caretaker to join our team at Saint John of God Hospitaller Services, a leading provider of care and support services in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our properties, providing a safe and secure environment for our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake daily cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure the upkeep of our properties
  • Conduct regular building and equipment inspections to identify and address any maintenance issues
  • Implement and maintain building security measures to prevent unauthorized access
  • Manage and maintain Health and Safety records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including painting, decorating, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work
  • Log and manage daily water supply and other essential services
  • Communicate effectively with the Management Team and other stakeholders
  • Respond to and manage emergencies and incidents
  • Perform PAT testing on electrical appliances to ensure safety and compliance

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to our core values and principles
  • Hold a qualification in Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
  • Have experience in maintenance and facilities management
  • Possess skills in painting, decorating, carpentry, and plumbing
  • Have a good understanding of Health and Safety regulations in housing
  • Be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be flexible and able to meet deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
