Our small Independent Secondary School is looking to recruit a full-time caretaker (Mon-Fri), from 7.45 am to 4.30 pm. We need someone with background and experience in maintenance and cleaning, punctual, hardworking, trustworthy and with excellent communications skills.

Your key responsibilities as the caretaker will consist of:

Performing general maintenance and repair jobs

Cleaning of internal and external areas

Unlocking of school buildings

Performing regular inspections of school site, equipment and systems

Comply with health and safety regulations

Assisting the school cook with lunchtime duties (cleaning, washing up)

Work with the School Business Manager and the Headteacher

The suitable candidate should:

Be able to use your own initiative and work independently

Have excellent organisational skills

Be able to communicate in English (spoken and written)

Undergo any necessary training as requested by the School Business Manager

Have a DBS Check or be willing to undergo one
