Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Caretaker to join our team at a Secondary school in Hammersmith and Fulham. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the site is safe and secure, carrying out maintenance and repairs, and providing administrative support for lettings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Management: Lock and unlock the premises as required, ensuring the site is safe for staff, pupils, and visitors.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Carry out routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, redecoration, plastering, carpentry, and glazing work.
- Administration: Provide administrative support for lettings, including responding to requests and dealing with maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Compliance: Identify and advise the Site Manager of any repairs or maintenance work required, and carry out compliance checks as instructed.
- Portage Duties: Carry out portage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment around the site.
- Health and Safety: Ensure all areas within the site are free from litter and that all drains and gullies are free-flowing and clean.
- Deliveries: Take deliveries of stores, materials, and other goods, and convey them to their points of distribution.
- Emergency Procedures: Carry out school-based procedures in the event of fire, flood, breaking and entering, accident or major damage.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Trained and accredited to undertake Portable Electrical Equipment Testing, or willingness to undertake this.
- Experience: Experience in a similar role, including first line repairs and maintenance.
- Certifications: Hold a valid 3-day First Aid Certificate, or willingness to undertake.
Working Arrangements:
The successful candidate will be required to work a varied shift pattern, including early mornings and evenings. The role is temporary, but the option to make it permanent may become available at a later date.
