Nursing Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will assist registered nurses and medical staff in identifying patient fitness and suitability for elective surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Perform observations such as height, weight, and BMI calculations, peak flow, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure readings, and tests including urine analysis, phlebotomy, and recording ECGs.
- Remove and replace dressings as requested by registered staff and remove simple sutures.
- Work within department protocols to request Blood and MRSA Investigations.
- Ensure that all appropriate documentation and equipment is available for outpatient clinics.
- Assist registered nurses with late cover in OPD/POAC if clinics are running late.
- Welcome patients and record their arrival into the department.
