We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and skilled oncology nurse to step into the role of Assistant Ward Manager within the Oncology Ward at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This position is a fixed-term contract designed to cover maternity leave.
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Ward Manager is to support the Ward Manager in delivering both clinical and managerial guidance within the ward environment. This role offers a unique chance to gain valuable insights into ward management while receiving support to cultivate the essential skills and knowledge required for the position.
We seek an innovative nursing professional eager to enhance their leadership capabilities, with a strong aptitude for problem-solving and a commitment to assisting the ward sister in clinical audits and research initiatives. Additionally, the role involves mentoring and supporting junior team members and nursing students.
Main Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate should possess or be pursuing a degree-level qualification and have a minimum of two years' experience in cancer care. Relevant specialized training in oncology is crucial.
Our objective is to deliver a service tailored to the unique needs of each patient while ensuring our staff receive ongoing support through regular clinical supervision, educational programs, and continuous professional development. The ward actively encourages nurse-led initiatives and research, providing opportunities for both professional and personal growth. Funding is available for degree and master's level modules within the specialty.
