Job Title: Building Services Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Engineer to join our team at Electus Recruitment Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on building services engineering, with a focus on MEP design and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume ownership of the suite of Building Design Guides, reviewing and updating them periodically to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
  • Engage with domain experts to incorporate standardized engineering solutions into project conception, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible outcomes.
  • Review and assess proposed deviations from the design guides, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure that our clients' needs are met.
  • Prepare estate major maintenance and lifecycle plan budgets, ensuring that our clients have a clear understanding of their financial obligations.
  • Advise on the condition of the estate and conduct ongoing detailed assessments of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations for optimization.
  • Work with FM site operations managers to prioritize works based on business objectives and building conditions, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service.
  • Lead the transition towards a proactive approach to asset management in line with ISO55001 principles, ensuring that our clients' assets are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Represent the FM Operations team as the ultimate recipient of any new installations, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the field of Building Services Engineering, with a particular focus on Mechanical Engineering and the design and specification of Mechanical installations.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with experience in the preparation of scope of works and performance specifications for planned maintenance and Capital works packages.
  • Knowledge of asset management principles, such as ISO55001, with the ability to implement standardized engineering solutions efficiently.
  • Ability to act as a Senior Authorising Person with responsibility for the Mechanical Safety Rules, ensuring that our clients' assets are managed safely and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work closely with our clients and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • CEng and Member of CIBSE would be desirable, but not critical.

Security Clearance:

Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to British Citizens, can accept dual nationals with British Citizenship. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared.
