Job Title: Building Services Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Engineer to join our team at Electus Recruitment Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions for our clients in the field of building services engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume ownership of the suite of Building Design Guides, reviewing and updating them periodically to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Engage with domain experts to incorporate standardized engineering solutions into project conception, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Review and assess proposed deviations from the design guides, providing expert recommendations for approval.
  • Prepare estate major maintenance and lifecycle plan budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and resource allocation.
  • Advise on the condition of the estate and conduct ongoing detailed assessments of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work with FM site operations managers to prioritize works based on business objectives and building conditions, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Lead the transition towards a proactive approach to asset management in line with ISO55001 principles, driving continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Represent the FM Operations team as the ultimate recipient of any new installations, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the field of Building Services Engineering, with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering and the design and specification of Mechanical installations.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with experience in the preparation of scope of works and performance specifications for planned maintenance and Capital works packages.
  • Knowledge of asset management principles, such as ISO55001, with the ability to implement standardized engineering solutions efficiently.
  • Ability to act as a Senior Authorising Person with responsibility for the Mechanical Safety Rules, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • CEng and Member of CIBSE would be desirable, but not critical.
