Senior Mechanical Engineer

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Building Services team in Manchester. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions for a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed design calculations and sketches in accordance with project requirements.
  • Liaise with senior engineers and engineering technicians regarding design and drawing.
  • Carry out mechanical building services design engineering on new build and refurbishment construction projects.
  • Assist senior staff in feasibility studies, concept, and scheme design stages.
  • Inspect and report on mechanical building services systems.
  • Undertake mechanical design work consisting of surveys, design, drawings, and specifications for projects.
  • Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards relating to mechanical services.
  • Attend project design meetings, technical meetings, value engineering workshops, and risk workshops as required.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience commensurate with the underpinning and knowledge requirements for Incorporated Engineer aligned to either IMechE or CIBSE requirements.
  • Ability to design principle mechanical systems from concept to detailed design.
  • Knowledge of chilled water, domestic hot and cold water systems, heating systems, and Building Regulations Part L compliance.
  • Proficiency in Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
