We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Lung Oncology Support Worker to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Lung Cancer Team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals diagnosed with lung cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists to support patients and ensure personalized care.
- Provide telephone support to patients, addressing their queries and signposting them to relevant healthcare professionals.
- Conduct holistic needs assessments and care planning, visiting patients in clinic and the chemotherapy day unit.
- Ensure patients are aware of available wellbeing services and support, and refer them to pre-habilitation and rehabilitation services as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the Lung Oncology CNS team, including data collection and analysis.
- Currently employed in a relevant healthcare or social care background, with experience in patient care delivery.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve.
- Basic computer skills and experience.
- Ability to study to level 3 or equivalent, with GCSE or 'O' level Maths & English grade C or above.
