Lung Cancer Support Worker

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lung Cancer Support Worker to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Lung Oncology team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists to support patients and ensure personalized care.
- Provide telephone support to patients, addressing their queries and signposting them to relevant healthcare professionals.
- Conduct holistic needs assessments and care planning, seeing patients in clinic and the chemotherapy day unit.
- Ensure patients are aware of available wellbeing services and support, and refer them to pre-habilitation and rehabilitation services as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the Lung Oncology CNS team, including data collection and analysis.
Requirements
- Currently employed in a relevant healthcare or social care background.
- Ability to work to clear protocols and guidelines within role boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
- Basic computer skills and experience.
