About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Lung Cancer Support Worker to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Lung Oncology team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists to support patients and ensure personalized care.
  • Provide telephone support to patients, addressing their queries and signposting them to relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct holistic needs assessments and care planning, visiting patients in clinic and the chemotherapy day unit.
  • Ensure patients are aware of available wellbeing services and support, and refer them to pre-habilitation and rehabilitation services as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Lung Oncology CNS team, including data collection and analysis.

Requirements

  • Currently employed in a relevant healthcare or social care background, with experience in patient care delivery.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve.
  • Basic computer skills and experience, with ability to learn new systems.
