About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Chef to join our team at ESS, a leading provider of food and support services to the Defence, Government, and Energy sectors. As a Chef with ESS, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our clients and customers, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to meet the needs of our clients and customers, ensuring that all food is of the highest quality and presented in a visually appealing way.
  • Menu Planning and Implementation: Work with our culinary team to plan and implement new menus, ensuring that they meet the dietary needs and preferences of our clients and customers.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that we have the necessary ingredients and supplies to meet the demands of our clients and customers.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties to the highest standard.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our clients and customers, responding to their needs and feedback in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements

  • Culinary Qualifications: Hold a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent in culinary arts.
  • Experience: Have experience in a similar Chef role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
  • Leadership Skills: Have experience of supervising a team and leading by example.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Hold a Food Hygiene certificate and have a good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
