Position: Technical Estimator

Overview:
An exciting opportunity has emerged within a well-established and expanding organization. We are seeking a Technical Estimator to become a vital part of our Commercial team.

Role Summary:
If you possess a background in engineering or have relevant electrical or mechanical experience and are eager to advance your career with a forward-thinking company, this position may align perfectly with your aspirations.

Training:
Comprehensive training will be provided, covering all facets of estimating tasks, including:
  • Monitoring and analyzing inquiries
  • Pricing projects
  • Negotiating with suppliers

You will oversee the entire process from inception to completion while collaborating with a team to secure and price projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the tendering process from initial inquiry through to submission.
  • Assist Project Management during project delivery.
  • Enhance both product and service knowledge to represent the organization effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with Contracts, Commercial, and Office departments.
  • Prepare precise cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Work with project managers and subcontractors to gather essential information for estimates.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost efficiencies.
  • Review and assess bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Present estimates to clients and negotiate pricing as required.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all estimates and related communications.

Required Experience:
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and methodical with a keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities, supported by advanced technological skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven history of negotiating and securing contracts.
  • A personable approach, capable of building long-term relationships with clients to foster future business growth.

The ideal candidate will be numerically adept and driven by data.

  • Cost Control: Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to manage project expenses effectively.
